Benidorm is the town under the most parking pressure in the region… and at the same time the one that has solved it best, although hardly anyone knows it: the council runs over 8,000 free spaces across 35 park-and-ride car parks around the town, and anyone who parks in one gets a free return bus into the centre. And the blue zone is one of the cheap ones: €0.50 an hour.
Where to park for free in Benidorm
Benidorm has a network of free park-and-ride car parks designed precisely to keep you out of the centre. These are the big ones, with their space counts.
Option 2: Salt de l’Aigua complex
321 spaces plus another 45. A curiosity: it’s next to the tow pound — better to visit it under your own steam than in the cab of a tow truck.

355 spaces, with a free bus into the centre for park-and-ride users. Parking here and taking the bus down works very well in August.

174 spaces in the Rincón, near the Wednesday and Sunday Pueblo market. Hotel territory, and the northern end of Levante.

Option 5: Av. Beniardá park-and-ride (CV-70 entrance)
The biggest in Benidorm: 1,004 spaces at the CV-70 entrance. If you’re arriving on the dual carriageway and don’t want to enter the town at all, this is the one. The pin is approximate, on the avenue itself.

Option 6: Showground — Av. de Inglaterra
467 spaces on the showground, avenida de Inglaterra. Roomy, and well connected to Levante on foot or by bus.

200 spaces on the Vía Parque, the ring road around the town. It’s a long way from the beach, but it’s guaranteed parking on impossible days.

And then there’s the other side: fourteen paying car parks spread across the centre, the Rincón and the upper town. Listed from closest to Levante to furthest away.
Option 1: Parking Centro
Underground at avenida Europa, 8: the one for Levante beach. The most convenient if your hotel is in that area and you want to leave the car untouched all week.

Around 490 spaces under the parque de l’Aigüera: the big one in the centre. You come out in the heart of Benidorm.

Benidorm’s blue zone: hours, tariffs and streets, from the official plan
Figures from the official operator (UTE ORA GRUA): €0.50 an hour, maximum 2 hours (€1), with a minimum ticket of 30 minutes (€0.25) and an overstay ticket of €0.25 if you run over by up to half an hour — keep it, it’s the cheap way out of a fine. You pay at the machine (cash or card) or through the Moviltik y EasyPark. Hay dos capas de calles, y las tienes pintadas en el mapa:
- 🔵 Blue all year: the centre and the Levante strip — Mediterráneo, Gerona, Madrid, Emilio Ortuño, Esperanto, Alcoy, Londres, Ámsterdam, Zamora, Derramador, Castellón, Juan Fuster Zaragoza… and the whole ring around the centre: Aigüera, Foietes, Orxeta, Primavera, Verano, Finestrat, Fluixà, Marte, Júpiter, Limones, Herrerías, Bilbao, Emilio Romero and Almendros.

Street markets: which day your car park disappears
- Wednesday — municipal market (Foietes/Mercasa): it sets up on the Foietes park-and-ride itself (440 spaces). That day, use the showground or Comunidad Europea.
- Wednesdays and Sundays — Pueblo market (Levante): on Av. Almirall Bernat de Sarrià, next to the Hotel Pueblo.
- Sundays — industrial estate market: the big one (≈700 stalls), with around 1,000 spaces of its own.
- Weekends — El Cisne flea market: on the N-332 towards Altea, with a large free car park of its own.
Car gone? Benidorm’s tow truck
Benidorm tows a lot of vehicles (driveways, loading bays, events). Before you report it stolen: the operator has an online number-plate locator. El depósito municipal está en el Camino Salto del Agua (tel. 966 83 11 61) and the enquiries office at C/ Roldán, 9 (965 86 55 23). Card payment accepted.
Where is it easy (and where impossible) to park?
- 🔴 Levante and the centre in season: looking for a free space is a lottery. Don’t circle: park-and-ride plus bus or a walk.
- 🔴 The old town: narrow, semi-pedestrian streets — park outside and walk.
- 🟢 The ring of park-and-rides: 8,000 free spaces surrounding the town. The default plan, all year round.
Where to park depending on your plan
For Levante beach
The Comunidad Europea park-and-ride (760 spaces) and a 15-minute walk, or any summer blue-zone street (Ibiza, Lepanto…) if it’s a short stop. For a full day: don’t even consider the blue zone — 2 hours maximum.
For Poniente beach and La Cala
Vía Parque (Vicente Pérez Devesa or Av. Cuba) and walk down; at La Cala there are six small council car parks — arrive early in summer.
For the old town and the tapas bars
Around the Parque de l’Aigüera, or the bus station park-and-ride, then walk 10 minutes. The old town shows a car no mercy.
For Rincón de Loix
Juan Fuster Zaragoza (174), Zamora (148) or Bernat de Sarrià (134). On Wednesdays and Sundays, watch out for the Pueblo market.
For Terra Mítica, Aqualandia and Mundomar
The parks have their own car parks at the entrance — don’t look for a space in town and then drive up.

Where can you park for free in Benidorm?
In the 35 municipal park-and-ride car parks (over 8,000 spaces) that ring the town: Beniardá (1,004), Comunidad Europea (760), Av. Cuba (510), the showground (467), Foietes (440)… The full table is above. On top of that, the blue zone is free on Sundays and public holidays.
How does the free park-and-ride bus work?
Anyone parking in a park-and-ride gets a free return ticket on the shuttle buses that run from the bus station and from Av. de Cuba (Vía Parque) to the centre and Rincón de Loix.
How much does Benidorm’s blue zone cost?
€0.50 an hour and €1 for 2 hours (the maximum). The minimum ticket is 30 minutes (€0.25), and there’s an overstay ticket of €0.25 that covers up to a further half hour. Sundays and public holidays, free. You pay at the machine or with Moviltik and EasyPark, the apps for Benidorm’s blue zone.
Which streets are blue zone in summer only?
From 1 July to 30 September the extra beach streets are regulated: Ibiza, Lepanto, Cuenca, Mallorca, Almería and Europa at Levante, and Vicente Llorca Alós and Xixó at Poniente. They’re drawn in green on the map.
What time does charging stop?
Every day at 14:00 until 16:00, and in the evening at 20:00 in winter or 21:00 in summer. On Saturdays you only pay in the morning, and Sundays and public holidays are free all day. The bar at the top tells you in real time.
My car isn’t where I left it — what do I do?
Check the number-plate locator on the municipal tow truck website first. The pound is at Camino Salto del Agua (966 83 11 61) and takes card payment. If it isn’t there, then yes: call the local police.
Where do I park on Wednesday, with the market on?
The municipal market takes over the Foietes/Mercasa park-and-ride (440 spaces). That day, fall back on the showground, Comunidad Europea or the bus station. The Pueblo market (Wed and Sun) affects the car park next to the Hotel Pueblo in the Rincón.
How does it work with a blue badge?
In the reserved bays inside the blue zone you can get a free ticket giving you 2 hours (operator’s own information). And as everywhere in Spain (RD 1056/2014), a disabled parking card lets you park in regulated zones with no time limit. Always display the card. A UK blue badge is recognised in Spain.
