The Cullera parking map
Cullera is easier than it looks in August. The key is the dos bolsas gigantes y gratuitas at Sant Antoni — Chulio (≈21,000 m²) and Torres Gómez (≈12,500 m²) — which soak up almost any beach day. The official scheme is one of the gentle ones: in the old town you only pay in the mornings, and at the beaches the tough hours only run from 15 June to 15 September. The only genuinely hard part: El Racó and the lighthouse beaches at the height of summer.
Where to park for free in Cullera
In Cullera the old town scheme only charges in the mornings, and the beach one gets serious in summer. These car parks are outside both zones and free all year.
Option 2: Av. Enrique Chulio main car park
Around 21,000 m² at the entrance to the Sant Antoni district: Cullera’s biggest car park. There’s always a space here, even on 15 August.

Where to park in a paid car park in Cullera
Two regulated car parks, one on the Diagonal and one by the lighthouse.
Option 1: Diagonal car park (regulated)
Around 8,000 m² on the Diagonal del País Valencià, between the old town and Sant Antoni, inside the regulated zone. Convenient and central, but check the machine.

For the lighthouse beaches, l’Illa and El Far, where finding a free space is mission impossible in summer. It charges in season, and even so it’s usually worth it.

Cullera’s scheme: the old town only charges in the mornings
Figures from the official operator (ORA Cullera). Zone A — the old town: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 14:00 only; afternoons, Sundays and public holidays are free. Gentle tariff: €0.20 minimum, €0.60 an hour and €2 for the roughly 3-hour maximum. Zone B — the beaches: in winter it works exactly like the old town; from 15 June to 15 September it gets serious — every day, Sundays included, from 9-14 and 16:30-20:30, at €0.95/h and €3 for around 3 hours. The summer regular’s trick: the €9 day ticket, which lets you forget the clock entirely.
In summer Zone B expands to take in El Racó. En el mapa están pintados los tramos reales from the official list in the by-law (gazette, 23 May 2023): Zone A along Rambla Sant Isidre–Diagonal–avinguda del Port, and Zone B across Sant Antoni and El Racó. Three details worth their weight in gold: from October to June, there’s no charge in the afternoon; on Thursdays Zone A is free (market day); and cars with an ECO or ZERO emissions label don’t pay (as long as they keep to the maximum stay).

Thursday market day (and the climb to the castle)
Cullera’s street market sets up every Thursday morning on plaça de la Verge and passeig del Doctor Alemany (as set out in the municipal by-law): those streets are closed off and the surrounding area gets swamped. Thursday’s consolation prize: that day the whole of Zone A charges nothing — the service is suspended for the market. Park on the Diagonal or in the big car parks and walk. As for the castell y el santuario, don’t even try it by car: the streets up are narrow and steep. Park below and walk up (15-20 minutes, with views) or take the tourist train in season.
Where is it easy (and where hard) to park?
- 🔴 El Racó and the lighthouse beaches in August: few spaces plus the summer scheme. Come early, or Sant Antoni and walk.
- 🟠 The old town below the castle: narrow, steep streets — park below and walk up.
- 🟢 Sant Antoni: the two huge car parks (33,500 m² between them) hardly ever let you down.
- 🟢 Winter afternoons: from October to June, there’s no charge anywhere in the afternoon.

The two big car parks (Chulio and Torres Gómez) and a 5-10 minute walk. If you want the seafront, Zone B gives you up to 3 hours — or the €9 day ticket.
For El Racó and the lighthouse beaches
In August, arrive before 10:30 or go straight to the lighthouse car park. The locals’ alternative: Sant Antoni and a walk along the seafront.
For the castle and the old town
Zone A in the mornings (€0.60/h) or free in the afternoon; the Diagonal as a back-up car park. The climb, always on foot.
For Thursday market day
The Diagonal or the big car parks, then walk: the streets around the market fill up between 9:00 and 13:00.
