Behind the centre, five minutes from El Carregador without setting foot in the blue zone. The most practical way out.

The Alcossebre parking map
Alcossebre (the seaside arm of Alcalà de Xivert) comes down to three things: the zona azul is cheap, small and seasonal only — the core between camí de l’Atall and the square; the zona verde de la plaza se vuelve goes pedestrian every afternoon from 14:00 (the classic visitor’s mistake); and the bolsas gratuitas spread the load between beaches: Les Fonts, La Romana, Cala Blanca and west of the centre.
Where to park for free in Alcossebre
In Alcossebre the blue and green zones only operate during Easter week and in summer, and only in the very centre. All of these car parks are outside the ticket machine’s reach.
Option 2: Platja Romana car park
For Romana beach and the southern promenade. A quiet spot with room outside August.

Three or four streets north of the regulated core. You walk a little further and you don’t pay.

Blue and green, street by street (and the 14:00 trap)
Blue zone (Easter week and summer, 11-14 and 16-22): Romeral, Barquer, Colón, Rench (from Barquer to Alcalà), camí de l’Atall (from Colón to Alcalà, plus the promenade stretch), Alcalà, Ausiàs March and Blasco Ibáñez. Village prices: €0.20 per half hour, €0.60 an hour and €1.55 for the 2-hour maximum, at the machine, by card or with the e-staciona. Hay tarjetas de temporada para residentes (15 días 15 €, mes 30 €, trimestre 90 €) y comerciantes; los vehículos PMR disponen de 8 horas gratuitas.
Green zone (Vistabella, Sant Benet and the stretches of Rench and El Atall between Alcalà and plaça Constitució): chargeable from 11 to 14 at the same rate… and from 14:00 to midnight it closes to traffic — this is where everyone strolls in the evening. If you park there in the morning, get the car out before 14:00 or you’re stuck inside. All drawn on the map stretch by stretch; the signs are what count.
The Serra d’Irta coves (and the village of Alcalà)
To the north, the tarmac ends at Cala Blanca and the natural park begins: getting to Cala Mundina and Ribamar means a dirt track with small lay-bys — a plan for early risers, and the park’s signs are what count. And don’t forget: Alcossebre is the beach belonging to Alcalà de Xivert, the inland village 7 km away, where parking is free and easy all year — Templar castle included.

Where is it easy (and where hard) to park?
- 🔴 The very centre in July-August: blue zone 11-14 and 16-22 plus narrow streets. Car parks, and walk.
- 🟠 The green zone in the afternoon: pedestrian from 14:00 — don’t get shut in.
- 🟢 Les Fonts, Cala Blanca and the west: car parks with space nearly always.
- 🟢 From October to Easter: the whole of Alcossebre is free.
Where to park depending on your plan
For El Carregador and the centre
Under 2 hours: the blue zone (€1.55 for the maximum). Longer: the west or north car park and a 5-minute walk.
For platja Romana and El Moro
The Romana car park is right there; for El Moro, the lay-bys along the southern promenade. In August, before 11:00.
For Les Fonts
Its ≈4,400 m² car park right by the sand. The no-thought-required option.
For the natural park coves
Cala Blanca as your base, then the dirt track with lay-bys for Mundina and Ribamar. Early start, or walk.
For an evening on the promenade
Remember: the green zone is pedestrian from 14:00. Park outside the core and enjoy the walk without any nasty surprises.

Do blue badge holders have to pay?
The scheme allows 8 free hours for vehicles displaying a disabled parking card (council note), on top of the national provisions (RD 1056/2014). Always display the card. A UK blue badge is recognised in Spain.
